Alison, it is so clear that your sense of humor will buoy you during your surgery and recovery. Love your blog and making women "of a certain age" proud and comfortable with who we are!
I'm getting up from the sofa now to make some heuvos rotos now for a late, lazy lunch. I give thanks to my legs for letting me get up, especially since there was a time they couldn't. I give thanks to my colon for not killing me (at least not yet), like it did my sister. I give thanks to my floppy DDD's for catching the crumbs and food I inevitably spill on myself. Most of all, I give thanks to you, dear friend. Rest easy, and be well. XXXOOO
So much wit and wisdom in your words. I'll be thinking of you in your potential Smurfdom tomorrow and sending all love and positive healing juju your way. xo
There is so much relatable truth here! Thank you for the nods and the giggles. Sending all the loving and healing energy your way for the surgery and beyond! xo
I'll be thinking about you tomorrow, Alison! When surgery is over, you'll be one step closer to Portugal. The smurf blue effect is a bit odd, but it wears off pretty quickly.
Healing thoughts to you Alison! With that wicked sense of humor, a great sounding doctor and good attitude about it all we will be seeing you at the Elk’s in no time. This article made me smile as usual with all of your insights and funny observations . Rest and recover well. X
The one that gets me is "vaginal atrophy" which is the current language used to describe what happens with symptoms during perimenopause and menopause. As if the vag is like, dying??? Many physicians are advocating for the acronym GSM, genito-urinary symptoms of menopause, which is obviously much preferable (and more accurate!).
As a “geriatric pregnancy” mom, 44 years ago, with an attachment to Smurfs of that era, but a special attachment to you, I want you to know that no matter what color you turn, you’re in my heart forever--especially after that trip to the Korean spa!
All the best tomorrow. It sounds like you are in very good hands. (And a very small part of me did turn smurf-blue from the injection to find the sentinel lymph node! Exciting times)

You are a warrior!!
Love, light and prayers are sent to you as you begin to navigate through this cancer journey.

Holding you in my thoughts Alison.
What a way for your extraordinary to be showing! But it is...I'll be thinking of you tomorrow (today too!)

Alison, your sense of humor and generosity are both quite remarkable.
