Yes - that's not nothing!! I love the seasonal recipe notebooks - that might help a certain "adulting" project of my own :) Also love the recommendation of God's Hotel - so beautifully challenging and thoughtful.
First of all, thank you for all the info on banh mi sandwiches. I have been thinking about this all week before we get ready for a trip, a drive actually, to Charleston, South Carolina. I wonder if they have it down there?
Second, re-Adulting. Daughter M went to a new employee orientation for her first ADULT job. She asked for a bottle of champagne (we always have some handy) since she was supposed to bring something for a potluck. It was a stunning moment to see her pull this off.
Son W had a similar moment caused by a pettifogging credit card company. E & I were very proud.
I love this! Since I published this post, both my kids have been leaning heavily on me for support so maybe there’s something to this delayed adulting theory. I think there’s a significant Vietnamese population in S. Carolina. Hope you find banh mi there. Have a great trip!
Holy hell, if someone had told me when I was 18 about THE ADMIN OF LIFE, aka the kind of adulting you mentioned, it would have blown my mind! So much has been written about Millennials finding basic adulting challenging, but GenX actually went through a lot of the same things. At some point I wised up and became a document Jedi, but I have friends who have mastered spreadsheets for their admin in a way that makes me feel like a kindergartner. In any case, great post :)
I hope your King County records dude appreciate's the value he creates! :)
Lol!

I laughed out loud several times while reading this. Adulting is definitely overrated.
I agree! But don’t tell my kids I said that.
Your secret is safe with me.
